QUICKFILM presents photos from the senior students of Peiraikos Syndesmos Drama School and their preperation for their final exams to the Ministry of Culture
The students presented two plays. The first one was ”A Midsummer Night’s Dream” by William Shakespeare, prepaired and directed by Argyro Chioti. And the second was a mix of monologues from the plays of Anton Chekhov, including ”The Seagull”, ”Uncle Vanya”, ”Three Sisters” and ”The Cherry Orchard”.
There was also a third play presented called ”One Way Ticket”, prepared and directed by Stavros Karagiannis (Drama School Principal – Acting Director), but there is no photographic content available.
Additional professors include Alexis Priftis and Eleni Stamidou for music and singing, Thodoris Panas and Elsa Siskou for dancing, Giannis Panagopoulos for improv and Dimitris Papakonstantinou for speech correction.

Midsummer Night’s Dream
A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a comedy play written by William Shakespeare in about 1595 or 1596. The play is set in Athens, and consists of several subplots that revolve around the marriage of Theseus and Hippolyta. One subplot involves a conflict among four Athenian lovers. Another follows a group of six amateur actors rehearsing the play which they are to perform before the wedding. Both groups find themselves in a forest inhabited by fairies who manipulate the humans and are engaged in their own domestic intrigue. A Midsummer Night’s Dream is considered one of Shakespeare’s most popular and widely performed plays.
Chekhov’s Monologues
Anton Pavlovich Chekhov was a Russian playwright and physician who is considered to be one of the greatest writers of all time. His career as a playwright produced four classics, and his best short stories are held in high esteem by writers and critics. Along with Henrik Ibsen and August Strindberg, Chekhov is often referred to as one of the three seminal figures in the birth of early modernism in the theatre. Chekhov was a physician by profession. “Medicine is my lawful wife”, he once said, “and literature is my mistress”.
